Maison de l'Inde celebrates the cultural festival of Durga Puja

 

Maison de l'Inde celebrated the "Fête de l'Automne" for four days from 24 to 27 September at the Salle Indira Gandhi. The festivities organised jointly by Sammilani, the India Reading Centre and the Maison de l'Inde consisted of daily rituals presided over by Swami Veetamohananda, President of the "Centre Vedantique Ramakrishna" (the Ramakrishna Mission), Gretz and rich evening cultural programmes. Over thirty performers from different religious and cultural background and geographical regions of the world participated in the programme under the direction of Kakoli Sengupta. Over a thousand people attended the different programmes. The festivities ended with a dinner on the 24the September where more than five hundred plates were served. The celebration of this event at the Maison de l'Inde was a demonstration of the promotion of intercultural dialogue, one of the missions of the Cité Internationale universitaire de Paris, of which Maison de l'Inde is a part.
